Podcast Episode 75 – Using Data-Driven Decision Making to Grow Your Business – Dr. Fisayo Ositelu, M.D.

Dr. Fisayo Ositelu

Episode 75 – Evidence-based medicine has been a big focus in the medical field.  If you can’t back up a plan with some kind of study or data point, we’re going to question whether it’s the right plan.  We don’t apply that same level of scientific inquiry to all situations though.  Take our businesses for example.  Are you committing yourself to data-backed decision making on a regular basis when it comes to hiring and firing, or taxes, business growth strategies, I think we tend to go with our gut or just try things and see what happens.  There’s a place for that, but I think we ignore data a lot of times in our businesses and just act on instinct.  That’s why I’m so excited to introduce this week’s podcast guest, Dr. Fisayo Ositelu, M.D.

Dr. Ositelu is the cofounder and CEO of Gentem Health, a Silicon Valley-based technology company on a mission to help private medical practices stay independent by simplifying, accelerating, and maximizing reimbursements through its platform and service. Dr. Ositelu received his MD and MBA degrees from Stanford School of Medicine and Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Prior to founding Gentem, he worked in healthcare private equity and at the now well-known startup company, NerdWallet.  He’s going to talk to us today about how to take our evidence-based strategies that we use in medicine and apply those to our business.  This may sound like a statistics class,  but I promise it’s not, so don’t tune out.  These techniques we’re going to talk about today could save you tens of thousands of dollars just by learning what you need to pay attention to in your business.
